Taryn Scala is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist with a deep passion for helping individuals, particularly those struggling with addiction. Her goal is to create a supportive, safe, and validating space where clients feel seen and empowered as they navigate recovery and rebuild their lives.
Taryn began her career in mental health as an intern at Southern California Recovery Center, where she worked closely with individuals in early recovery. After her internship, she became the lead therapist for all of the center’s detox facilities, guiding clients through the critical early stages of stabilization and healing. She primarily works with adults (18 and older) and values the opportunity to connect with people from all walks of life.
Her commitment to this work is rooted in her own personal experiences with mental health. Having faced similar struggles herself, Taryn understands what it feels like to feel lost and uncertain. She is passionate about being a source of belief and support for her clients, even when they are struggling to believe in themselves.
Taryn holds a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy and a Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Industry Management—a creative detour before discovering her true calling. Originally from Brooklyn, NY, she relocated to the West Coast five years ago and quickly embraced the coastal lifestyle. When she’s not working, Taryn enjoys surfing, skating, long walks, and bonfires with friends. She also loves riding her bike, spending time with her family (including Face Timing her niece and nephew), and unwinding with Bravo marathons.
